Editorial standards
The rules this site is published under.
Each one in Artur and Michelle’s own words where they have stated it, followed by how the site holds to it.
First-hand only
We do not do sponsored stays, we do not do press trips, and we do not write about anywhere we have not personally been.
A country appears on this site because they have slept there. A country with no guide yet is listed as visited and is not a link: there is no page about a place until there is something first-hand to put on it.
Everything is dated
We only write about places we have been ourselves — and we date everything, because things change.
Every guide shows when it was last revised, and lists what changed underneath it. The date moves only when the content does: a guide cannot be made to look fresh by touching its timestamp.
The photographs
The photos are ours, shot on the road — the views, the food, and the occasional disaster.
No stock photography is used anywhere on this site, and a guide cannot be published here without a photograph of its own.
Paid for by the people writing
We pay for our own rooms, our own food, our own bad bus rides.
Requests for paid posts and sponsored stays are declined; the contact page says so to anyone about to send one.
Corrections
Corrections are wanted: send one and the guide is fixed. The change is recorded in that guide’s own list of changes, not edited away silently.

Some outbound links pay the site a commission. Each is marked (commission link) in the sentence where it appears, not only in a footer. How this site makes money has the detail.
